My client, a leading manufacturer of catering and baking equipment, is looking for an Assistant Draughtsman to join their team in Bellville South, Cape Town.

This is a junior position and he/she will report to the current draughtsman and assist with drawings, BOMS, cutting list etc.

Must have experience to do a full model of an assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist to complete the following projects:
• C8 Rotary Oven new door design and complete remodel. TF80 / TF120/ TSL120 / TF240 & TF60 and TF480 Oven new door round corner and door lock design, Bread Slicer, New Stand and trolley drawings.
• Update current drawings on Auto Cad and Solid Works.
• Do modelling of full assemblies and break assemblies down to single parts and create bending
• drawing to accurate tolerances.
• Do Bakery Layout –Drawing to the specifications of the marketing director / manager /
• Do machine drawings with all the specifications for the engineers to machine with tolerances.
• Update Cutting Lists for each Jon Number and assure that the quantities, material specifications and
• grain directions are correct.
• Do drawings for new designs and developments and improve current products to requirements from
• Only update drawings, cutting list and BOM’s on request from the Production Director and from a
• signed / approved ECP – Engineering Change Proposal Document.
• Not allowed to override or copy over drawings which can cause that a drawing is lost.
• Weekly timesheets of work complete need to be handed in on a Friday

Required Skills and Knowledge

• At least 5 years experience in a Factory environment and be able to work as a team with previous
• experience as a Draughtsman
• Experience in draughting on Solid Works – attach your Solid Works certificate
• Experience in AMADA bending machine Software and programming an advantage.
• Own transport and be able to come/go to work when working overtime.
• Sense of responsibility
• Positive attitude and enthusiastic
• Safety Conscious (Any previous safety course an advantage)
• Must have experience in Sheet Metal Manufacturing and design of machines and do full models,
• parts for laser cutting, machined parts.
• Hands on and be able to measure parts and make drawings.
