Our client is looking for a responsible Front of House Manager for their growing business.  The successful candidate will be responsible for wine sales, electronic wine sales, wine tastings and off-site wine sales events.

Responsibilities:

• Day to day management, running, planning and organising of the guesthouse, conference facility, wine tasting and functions, including liaison with booking platforms.
• Promoting and marketing the business and the wine of the estate.
• Ordering, purchasing, and controlling of stock.
• Training and managing of staff.
• Occasionally stepping in to assist housekeeping staff with their duties in case of need.
• Scheduling and management of housekeeping staff.
• Carrying out inspections of cleaning services.
• Welcoming guests.
• Dealing with guests’ complaints and comments.
• Addressing problems and troubleshooting.
• Ensuring events, conferences and accommodation runs smoothly.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Preparing and serving breakfast.
• Preparing and serving meals for conferences.
• Preparing and serving meals for events.
• Doing and arranging to do maintenance on the estate.
• Controlling and management of petty cash when you are on duty.
• Night duty and sleeping over in the main house, when required.
• Any other reasonable instructions that may be given to you by your superior from time to time.

Requirements:

• Reside in the Stellenbosch area.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Own reliable transportation.

Shifts:

• Required to work shifts as communicated to you on a monthly basis.
• Shifts will either entail working five days and having two days off or working four days and having three days off.
• Normal month hours: no more than 160 hours (excluding overtime)
• Note that normal working hours will include Sunday work (overtime is not applicable) as well as public holidays (over time is applicable).
• Sleeping over in the main house for night duty when the owners are on leave.
• Shifts per week:
  • Between 07:00 and 18:00 for 10 hours plus 1 hour lunch/tea break
  • 5 Shifts per week
  • Between 07:00 and 18:00 for 8 hours plus 1 hour lunch/tea break

Salary: R15 000 CTC per month
