My client in the frozen food industry is looking for a Night Shift Supervisor for their meat production plant in Bloemfontein.

Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to:)

• Supervising the night shift staff and ensure productivity.
• Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products.
• Performing quality inspections on meats and other products.
• Support department managers and co employees.
• Actively participate as a member of the team
• Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the manager.
• Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are maintained according to laid down standards and norms.
• Ensure Personal hygiene standards are maintained
• Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
• No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment.
• Be actively involved in the OHS and Food Safety System, partake in OHS and Food Safety System activities as and when directed
• Keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Grade 12 and previous supervisory experience essential
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand Afrikaans & English
• Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.
• A minimum of 3 years blockman experience and an understanding of the correct meat handling processes
• Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extending periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments.

Salary

R 7 000.00 – R 8 500.00 depending on experience

Working hours

Monday to Friday 18h00 – 06h00 (during the night)
