Factory Shop Supervisor reporting to the Branch Manager

Job Overview

The Factory Shop Supervisor responsibilities include receiving, ordering and arrangement of stock for the factory shop, place and arrange items in fridges, stock rotation, on shelves and in store, merchandising, supervision of teams and general store management.

Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to)

Stock Receiving and off-loading

  • Receive Stock
  • Off-load items to receiving area and de-stack stock
  • Blind receive stock into store
  • Check items for damages and expiry dates and keep all pallets neat and tidy
  • Ensure that stock rotation is done according to prescribed methods
  • Only pick stock from open boxes before opening new boxes
  • Pack freezers at the back

Merchandising and Cleaning

  • Maintain shop and shelves volumes
  • Fill up shop at closing before leaving
  • Merchandising of allocated displays
  • Clean allocated areas as per roster

Reporting & Counting

  • Report damages and check the expiry dates, sell by dates and best before dates
  • Perform daily blind stock count as per set schedule
  • General Cash management, admin management and people management
  • Prepare for full stock take every 3 months
  • Deal with and process expired stock, rotation of stock and ordering of stock

Cash Management

  • Preparation, co-ordination and handing out of Floats
  • Assist Cashiers with cash drops
  • Allocate Change as per requests
  • Cash up at the end of every shift
  • Correction of Cashier mistakes with consent from Branch Manager



  • Administration of old stock write off and stock transfers
  • Check receipt invoices against orders and send through to GRV
  • Follow up on GRV cycle
  • Issuing of Purchase orders
  • Handle transfer requests from HQ
  • Updating of IQ system
  • Payment requests for general store management
  • Weekly filing, creating, updating and maintaining records and databases

People Management

  • Assist with and / or refer any HR related queries
  • Assist with leave requests and forward to HR after authorisation
  • Uniform and PPE orders and issue thereof to staff
  • Report and administer any IR related issues in conjunction with HR
  • Set up the weekly cleaning schedule

Team Supervision

  • Be knowledgeable and conversant in all tasks of Dispatch division to enable you to train and supervise your team
  • Ensure all team members are trained, knowledgeable and conversant in the tasks they are allocated


  • Support department managers and co employees.
  • Actively participate as a member of the team
  • Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the manager.

General Duties

  • Open Shop every day and ensure that all safety procedures are met during a daily walk about
  • Daily lock-up and alarm activation
  • Do daily price check and do corrections when required
  • Assist and resolve customer queries
  • Upkeep of stationary volumes, labels, soap, etc
  • Check fridge temperatures
  • Report any maintenance issues to HQ


Housekeeping and Safety Standards

  • Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are maintained according to laid down standards and norms
  • Ensure Personal hygiene standards are maintained
  • Take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others
  • Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
  • No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment
  • Keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

Educational Background:

  • Grade 12
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand Afrikaans & English

Salary R 8 000 ctc neg depending on experience
