The Facility Manager; is Responsible for/should oversee/should plan for and perform tasks, individually or as part of a team related the following points,

          Access and Security (Keys, Safes, Security Guards, Visitors, Staff)

          Waste Management (Biological, General waste)



          Air Conditioning / Fresh Air:  General air flow and quality


          Backup Generator

          Pest Control

          Fire Safety (Equipment service / Safety checks)

          H&S Officer wrt to Vendors working on site (Obtain letters of good standing – ensure vendors comply to H&S guidelines)

          Gas Cylinders (CO2; LPG)

          General Maintenance (Plumbing, minor electricity, woodwork, welding (hot work), painting, minor repairs where needed/possible)

          Arrange service events with Vendors related to OPS.  (Obtain quotes, Minor management of records of Quotes, POrders, Invoices)

          Project manager (Plan, prepare budget per project, oversee)

          Maintaining good recordkeeping (service logbooks; checks; equipment databases; as per company SOPs)

          Have experience with or a good understanding about Quality Assurance (to work in a compliant manner to rules/regulations set out by the Quality dept. or other regulatory body).

          Manage a team of one or more workers related to operations

          Write/Review Standard Operating Procedures

          Provide training related to Operations

          Available on weekends to perform tasks that require company “shutdown”

          Available afterhours (crises management)

          Have own mode of transport available / Driver’s license

          Project Management on new laboratory extensions
